Aman ki Asha: Salamat rahe ye dostana humara
It’s been an ongoing process along with the erupting turmoil’s.
The two leading media houses of India and Pakistan – The Times of India and the Jang Group – have come together to develop a stronger diplomatic and cultural relations between India and Pakistan. “Aman ki Asha: Destination Peace” Is it a never ending process which is looking beyond the limitations of a 62-year-old political frontier? What is it that ties together the two peoples?
Will this a dream to live past the decades of suspect, enmity and insult? Peace is critical ….
Where will we get to because of the primal bonds that tie together the two? The two main protagonists of the Word Wars shared religion, race and sovereigns but again they can easily be hit by a cricket Ball.
Most of us want the love affair to last and thrive. Nobody wants to look at the quixotic ventures, national interest for commercial gains? Is it another new lease of life in betterment of relations between Indians & Pakistanis? The theme is indubitably laudable: 'Aman ki Asha' (Hope for Peace).
Music transcends barriers of language, culture and creed. If it is so so let’s play it.
TV Actor Shakeel Yousuf Kamal is in Bhopal on personal visit .To energies the process of restoring peace and advance the Aman Ki Asha mission lets see how the Bhopal media takes it! Even as the governments of the two countries engage each other in fits and starts the initiatives
"Yeh Khuda ka kanoon hai, yeh rab kar raha hai, aap dua farmai…”
Salamat rahe dostana hamara!

Whats in a name?

Few girls from the dental college in Sagar owned by her protested against the atrocities and mismanagement in front of her husbands official residence in Bhopal . The girls were beaten up and thrashed by the police.
The students alleged that Mrs Sudha Mallaiya running a nursing college denied them of basic facilities. She would often threaten them with rustication. The unexpected allegation was the accusation of running a prostitution racket in the college campus. The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) supported the medical students.
Last year the poor Minister had to reply a question in Vidhansabha for allotting a land to her wife for her NGO Ojaswani.

Gang rape in Bhopal. Its a shame
In the last two years I have heard and read stories if Rape, Eve teasing, Chain snatching
Car and bike theft so often and most of the time the police are clueless. Woman raped in MP police station- Minor girl raped by cousin, assaulted by father in Bhopal,Woman raped on board Pushpak Train ,Dowry accused was gang raped in custody ,Woman accuses Crime branch team of gang , A policeman was sent to jail by a local court in connection with the gang-rape of a minor girl in a police station in Panna district .I can go on and on .. these are the regular headline nowdays of the city newspapers. But none have gone further ahead from just printing.
Its a shame that MP is the no 1 state in crimes against women. If we looks look into the problem deeper.. we can realize a phenomenon for urban violence which has grown in percents every year over the last ten years.'violent crime has increased in recent years in Bhopal city.
We are overlooking to a statement since long. “It is the urban poor who are the main instigators and perpetrators of violence and crime in the city”. Is debatable and there is a strong belief in this bias. And it is this prejudice that has often hindered any attempt to get to the heart of the problem of either poverty or crime and violence, in our city
Urbanization, rapid economic liberalization, growing mass political disorder, violent conflict and inappropriate and inadequate policies, inappropriate policing, corrupt police , corruption, Nepotism , no fear of law , government making mockery of laws on the behest of politicians personal interest , are amongst the numerous complex factors that have contributed to higher and growing levels of crime in the city.
'Crime is an act punishable by law, i.e., it is the breach of a legal prohibition'. Not all crime entails violence . petty theft, white collar crime are such examples. Violence, on the other hand, is the undue exercise of physical and emotional/psychological which is evident in Bhopal cases. The victimization rates for crimes against women is very high I feel in Bhopal.
Very little initiatives have been taken by residents of cities and government to provide mechanisms which ensure the safety of all citizens. Nothing has been done on Safety and Crime Prevention. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister in Aug 12 2008 had announced the women policy in which there would be a “proper mechanism” to curb violence and crime against themwomen. “Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while chairing a cabinet meeting, endorsed the proposed new Women Policy - 2008-12 for the state which aimed at ensuring total and dignified participation of women in the development process and integrating them with the mainstream of development,”.Other objectives of the policy which were claimed, included providing protection to women in every field, their empowerment and ensuring result-oriented implementation of the various policies, programmes and schemes for their welfare.
Can’t we have some members and the committees?
Police, Government and Citizens should come together to solve the issues. the situation concerning crime and violence in the city is undergoing huge change, almost as i speak. The rate of crime and violence in comparison with other regions, is likely to change for the worse. The economic, social and human progress that engulfed this region for has tattered. The possible scenario is likely to be misery and social and political turmoil. Hence, it seems that the city is for a transformation that does not bode well for its citizens. Perhaps there could be no better opportunity to forge links between citizens and their governments, particularly, local/municipal government.

Youth is the Power
His last attempt to get nations top job in the twilight of his five-decade old career has ended even, if he has succumbed to his party men for retaining the post of the opposition leader.
The battle between the ideology …..??
Advani ji had lost the script somewhere in the compulsion of coalition politics that catapulted Vajpayee. Attempts to change the position- into the secular mode- left the BJP leader with no clear identity of his own the people say.
It started off with his 2005 Pakistan visit where he praised Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
The new avatar of Advaniji also put the cause of the Ram temple on the backburner….
He breathed new life given by his party and was made the prime ministerial candidate due to Mr. Atal Vajpayee ill health.
Leaving no stone unturned reached out to every nook and cranny of the country, traveling more than 60,000-odd km challenging the scorching heat nearly 40 degrees Celsius, he lifted weights and bent himself in cyberspace.
The hard-line campaign by Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, who was expected to pull in votes, actually turned out to be counter-productive. Varun Gandhi's strident message.. the campaign against terror went over the top.. factionalism, local factors cant be missed…
He made a made a very strong case for himself continuously out bursting against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, calling him weak and subservient to Congress president Sonia Gandhi. But it didn’t work…
Succumbing to the party men and claims of BJP not an individual centric party he agrees for the post of Leader of opposition till hoe long is another question..
Prime Minister in waiting .... just to think of 2011 elections we look at an 86 year old man and a 48 years old youth . He clearly failed to recreate the magic of Vajpayee who had bestride the political spectrum like a colossus. Claim
Voters have cast their mandate. The voters have surprised the poll pundits ,exit poll experts and offcourse the media who argued , asserted .
I feel on has always failed, time and again, to appreciate the maturity of our voters.” YOUTH POWER”.
This election will be remembered for JUST ONE REASON -for making more than 200 million young voters, under the age of 25, eligible to cast their votes.
The young Turks would vote for-for an aged LK Advani, who has been clinging to his life ambition or Rahul Gandhi, a youth of not much political experience?? Today’s youth, like in all ages, look up to somebody they can identify themselves with. The people have been clear when delivering their verdict—that they want accountability in return of the faith they have reposed on their representative
With 79 MPs under 40 years of age and 36 members who are at least 70 years old, the 15th Lok Sabha is a fine blend of youth and experience.
These elections witnessed voters who are also progressively maturing.. Proving anti-incumbency is no longer a fate accompli in an era when alliances fall apart at the slightest hint of a threat.
The Delhi Assembly election, not too long back, is a case in point. Despite the Mumbai attack & anti-terrorist rhetoric from the BJP, Delhi voters elected the Government on its past.
Wise think no single individual can call himself strong and decisive lest it offends its coalition partners.:) The Prime Minister in waiting Belongs to an old school of politics. He undermined the role to his own team-his coalition partners and the youth... The electorate, like Omar Abdullah said, “decided that the present PM is strong enough, and that the stronger alternative portrayed by the BJP was not strong enough!”
Left is left out and everybody is left out :) The new Lok Sabha has the highest number of women MPs ever elected in to the Lok Sabha, a higher number of under-40 members compared with the last,
Ram Sundar Das (88), the giant-killing JD(U) MP from Hajipur who defeated Ram Vilas Paswan, is the oldest member of the House while 26-year-old Muhammed Hamdulla Sayeed, the Congress MP from Lakshadweep, is the youngest
The representation of women members has crossed the 10% mark for the first time in Indian history. There are 12.2% women MPs elected from reserved seats while only 10.2% of the general MPs are women. At 58, the 15th Lok Sabha has 13 more women MPs than the last House and nine more than the previous best of 49 in the 13 Lok Sabha.
Invent India.
no shackles for 5 years.

Need an apology from Varun Gandhi.

The 29-year-old son of Maneka and late Sanjay Gandhi is contesting his maiden Lok Sabha election from Pilibhit constituency
On Sunday he was served a notice by the district authorities in Pilibhit to reply to the Election Commission about violating the model code of conduct in two days.
The offensive remark captured by a TV channels drew the attention of the local authorities. This is what the scion of the separated Gandhi family is stating and asking people to cheer.
Few slogans for you read….
"Gau hatya rukwana hai, Varun Gandhi ko jitana hai"
(Cow slaughter must stop, Varun Gandhi must win)
and
"Varun nahin yeh aandhi hai, doosra Sanjay Gandhi hai
(Varun Gandhi is like a storm, he is another Sanjay Gandhi)".
He had been campaigning earlier but they have gone unnoticed. It’s alarming…
The widow and son of Sanjay Gandhi… Maneka Gandhi and son Varun Gandhi – were once upon a time the virtual leader of the Congress party in 1970s –
They both joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in Feb 2004
After joining the BJP..Varun Gandhi, grandson of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and great-grandson of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had said,
"Historically, my family has been part of the Congress and has led it through its most glorious era. I do believe, however, that what my family was true to was not a party but a value system, a tradition of self-sacrifice, national pride and independence of spirit. I consider joining and strengthening the BJP to be in the nation's best interest and, therefore, decided to do so."
And on Sonia Gandhi as the leader he said
“The foreign origin is an issue but there are many other issues besides it that could be taken up during the poll campaign,"
Today a “change” “makeover” can be seen in the 29 year old boy.
Five years…
Today what we hear is..
"All the Hindus stay on this side and send the others to Pakistan"
Not only this- he also made some derogatory remarks against Mahatma Gandhi in the campaign
I am not coming to terms with the reality.. Friend is this the ideology of the party that he belongs to?
Or is it something else?
It is very shocking..
A criminal case is also lodged (BJP) Lok Sabha candidate Varun Gandhi for his alleged communal campaign speeches in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit constituency. The non-bailable case.
"Varun Gandhi has been booked under Section 153 (a) and Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code as well as Section 125 of the People's Representative Act.
While Section 153 (a) deals with "promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language etc and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony", Section 188 is on "disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant". Section 125 of the People's Representative Act deals with "offence of promoting enmity between classes in connection with the elections".
Varun Gandhi has ruffled feathers ..friends.. by his pro-Hindu speeches.
He has reportedly threatened to cut off the hands of those who raise a "hand against Hindus".
He is the descendant of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, a founding father of India’s secular democracy.
The streak of rabid communalism runs right across.
How dare he..!! I'm a Muslim and proud to be one. Also I thank my ancestors and god that they did not choose Pakistan and chose to stay back in India.
India is my country more than that of Varun Gandhi.

whats so special about womens day?
As decided the band played the music and the His Excellency, the Governor of Madhya Pradesh Dr Balram Jakhar stepped out of his car.. Walked the red carpet to reach the dice. ACES 91 team mates Faiqa, Vineeta and Rachita walked gracefully along with him.
His Excellency, the Governor of Madhya Pradesh Dr Balram Jakhar was the Chief Guest. President of ACES Association of convent ex students Mrs Kiran Avasthi welcomed the chief guest and administered an Oath for 'Protection of the Rights of the girl child' to the gathering as planned the batch 91.
The vote of thanks.. The speech written by Faiqa and read by Rachita our batch head will never be forgotten. Love u Faiqa. You are a super lady
The Flag swirled continuously for 3 hours while the dozens of cars rolled out on streets in Bhopal on Sunday march 8Th. Association of Convent Ex Students (ACES) 91 batch organized a Women’s Car Rally on the occasion of International Women’s Day and proved nothing is impossible.United we stand divided we fall.
The first car of no 100, which belonged to our batch mate Ruchi Vijayavargiya, was flagged off. Pilot from profession..She never showed nervousness in spite she missed her briefing a day before. Honourable guests who were invited to grace the occasion flagged of the other 99 cars which were driven by women
I was noting the time out of the cars as was well versed with the rally structures and concours. Maliha , Bilquis and Jyoti were noting the other details at the starting point.
Rachita and Faiqa took control of the other venue arrangements, which went on beautifully without any problem.
Realizing that 30 cars were flagged off I hit the road.. the track in red Mitsubishi which was sponsored by SR cars to check out the route to avoid any last minute confusion’s .every thing was perfect..
The first Time control point was managed by Mukta Sharma and Sudarshna at All Saints School. This responsibility was first of its kind for them. The spirit and enthusiasm Inspite of all odds didn’t stop them from working meticulously. I saw them surrounded by dozens of navigators harrowing them but they were not unnerved.
The most interesting and the fun loving point I noticed was the second Time Control managed by Neetica Gupta and Dolly Motwani. The moment I reached there I was offered a glass of juice and snack. I was surprised by their preparation, made on their own. They managed to mark lines by flour as they thought was the best alternative they could use instead of a white dust /powder as a finishing line although it was not needed.
Wow what a splendid managerial abilities women have.
Moved ahead and it seemed the whole town was participating and cheering the rallist..
I crossed 30 km and reached the third Time control. I saw Vinita running with the time check card as one of the participant didn’t sign it and Bilquis noting the time of another participant. They were impervious by the amateur drivers but supportive. Oh my God what a scene.. every body was enjoying , helping ..the Ex Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Mr. AV Singh who has always been an inspiration and guiding force to all of us was there on every check point with water , juice and biscuits helping the Marshall and the drivers. That’s how he celebrated and encouraged women. What a man he is! Cannot be described in words.
All through the routes I read the banners which were made by us on women’s day. After confirming that every thing was going trouble-free on the track, at Faiqa’s end -at the venue reached back at the target- the finishing point .
Every thing was just what the doctor ordered ha ha ha the end time was being noted by Maliha ,Bilquis, Faiqa, Rachita and by me as well. Realizing thing are in place we reached the spot adjacent to the rally ground where the arrangement for the prize distribution were made. It was perfect.
The music was going on, food being served, children having fun, cribbing for ice-cream and soda. Mothers enjoying their afternoon, meeting up with old friends, batch mates and enjoying every bit of the rally atmosphere..
This buffer zone was created as calculating results takes time. Rushed to the emergency office created at the venue. Rajan with his buddy had meanwhile entered the scores of all the 100 cars. We pressed the button at the excel sheet and the results were there.
Indeed it was a women’s day. There was an overwhelming response from women of all age groups from 18 to 72 year old women participated. Exactly 100 entries were received, which was a record in itself. The total distance covered by the rally was 47 kms. .It was a time speed distance rally. There were passage control and time checks on the route of the rally where the participants had to endorse their entry. All were managed by ACES batch 91 women. The rally was flagged off at 9.15 am from Four Season’s Lawns at Ahmedabad Palace and concluded at the same point.
The Guest of Honor, Ex Chief Secretary and Chief Election Commissioner M.P Shri A.V Singh gave away the prizes on the occasion. The supporters of the show were SR Car, MY Car. The Prizes were sponsored by Alankar Jwellers, Agarwal Jwellers, Zevrat and Nikki Bawa. This Rally was unique in its own way as it was completely managed by women marshals.
Owing to the big no of participant’s the total prizes were 7 in no. 1-Sunita Karki. 2- Sana shoeb.3-Shivika Sharad/4-Mrs Tope/5-tie- between Mrs avasthi and Himani Lalachandani/
6th position also there was a tie between Mrs Kavita Tyagi and Nirmala Tyagi- 7th S K Yeng.
3 consolation prizes were given-they reached on correct time but had minus points. It went to Mrs. Preeti Keer, Mrs. Aprajita Agarwal and Mrs.Ruchi Vijaywargiya

Gateway to India
The magnificent arch, built in 1911 to welcome the King-Emperor, has ever since stood as a symbol of the openness of the city and today for the solidarity shown by the citizens of the country. Amid slogans against politicians and Pakistan, the citizens, holding placards, lit candles and paid tribute to victims and martyrs who lost their lives fighting terrorists.
Have your say; join a peace rally at Gateway of India was the only message. The march showed Solidarity, compassion, and emotion. People held flowers, candles and signs that called for peace, unity, and action against terrorism.
The Gateway of India and gateway to India's soul today saw the world stands united in unreserved condemnation of this latest atrocity. This same place few days back was mute and a testimony to the latest assault on the country's pluralist democracy.
Pakistan's sputtering democracy already shaken is seeking to engulf India in its flames aswell.India is a land of great resilience that has learned, over arduous millenniums, to cope with tragedy.
India is a gateway to all and will always be.

Will MP ever produce a BINDRA?
At present I have one question on my mind? How can India produce more Bindras? When we still face problems like malnutrition in our state and in our country?
Will MP ever produce a Bindras? Not till the time we have the problem of malnutrition confronted.
We all know as well as the WCD department that 90 % of the brain of a child is formed in the first two years. If the child is malnourished so will be the Brain.
In our state BAL Sanjeevni scheme is not the solution for the dilemma of hunger. The state is spending crores of rupees on Hoardings, printing materials and advertisements. The same amount can be operated to preach about Food safety as it's a major concern. The rural people are illiterates they don't understand jargon on the hoardings nor they can read the printed material
Food safety is a major concern with increased debate on avian influenza .Not only avian influenza even diarrhoeal diseases alone kills an estimated 1.8 million children annually, and most of these illnesses are attributed to contaminated food or water. If our honorable minister thinks monsoon diseases cause these 28 deaths.
Non-corrupt and responsive officials should be posted in the department to organize the strategy and methods to control the funds mismanagement rather than media management after the outbreak.
Special cell should be constituted for infant's malnutrition monitoring to make our state a healthy state. Permanent health checkups camps should be instated at the disease prone areas like satna etc. Raths similar to promotional campaign of political parties should be run in the remote areas if medical services are difficult.
In MP. IQ of the malnourished child will be less even if the Govt Gets investments in MP. Nothing will change, as people will only do manual labours as 60 % of the children as per the National Family Health Survey (iii) done by (GOI ) are malnourished. And MP has the highest infant mortality in India
I am sure MP is capable of producing Bindras? All we need is to be "humane" Govt official, a politician, an NGO holder, an international worker and people like us.

Is this the spirit of democracy? MP BANDH
The right to strike without disrupting public order is a given in all democracies and is a tool to negotiate and it evolved as an expression of dissent during the 19th century. But what we see today is pillage, arsenal, and damage of public property, commotion in public life, destruction and religious intolerance…..
Bandh and hartal the Indian versions of mass strikes were powerful expressions of popular discontent during the independence movement. Hartal was M K Gandhi's unique idea of non-violent protest against colonial rule. It involved the closing of schools and shops, offices, courts of law and other work.
Today what we are seeing is no powerful moral argument but utter vandalism in the name of bandhs. Bandh now days are seldom voluntary. Political parties who call for a Bandh enforce it ruthlessly. What we see is no commitment for civilized conduct, tolerance, equalities of gender, religion and creed, free expression, and the rule of a humane law and order policy.
The violence was set off by a plan to transfer forest land to the Hindu shrine to erect shelters for thousands of pilgrims. The land allotment to Amarnath Shrine’s board was canceled and as a consequence we have massive demonstrations all across the country. In the name of God we saw political thugs attacking people for not accepting the bandhs that was called.
This was observed today in Bhopal and other cities of MP. Terror tactics were being unleashed in the name of Bharat Bandh. Forced shutdown of social and economic activity backed by the implicit threat of violence was witnessed and thus claiming Bandh to be 'successful'. This has happened as they succeed in enforcing their call because people fear for their safety.
Voluntarism was given a quiet burial. Even essential services were not spared during the Bandh . Absurdly, we saw political parties calling for bandh while holding office. Who is their protest aimed at? What was the basic reason for the Bandh was far away from the masses. Why were offices forced to close down? Is this the way we can inform people about the injustice met by the shrine board? Can awareness be generated by force? Only terror and hatred..
Look at such disruptive tactics. Senseless furore often fuelled by religious hatred is one thing that we perhaps will have to learn to live with. At least till the time when the realization about the enormity of the damage caused by incidents that leads to these protests seeps in. And I don’t see that happen in the near future.
What we see today is a new experience of democracy. It has opened up numerous points of dissent, new conflicts of values and identities and a permanent animosity of meaning and interest that often leaves Indians with a sense that society is flying off in many different directions at once…
The way we get our priorities mixed up is seriously obscene and disturbing. A bunch of people who were pelting stones, forcing close down aged 15-18 years —clueless retards, more descriptively—get offended and agitated and provoked ? EXCUSE ME! I’m sorry to say but they are not even aware why they were doing this… People are thoroughly justified in protesting. But its regrettable when the protests are not confined to demonstrations, slogans and rallies but when law is taken in hand, burning of public properties; persons unconnected with the matter are harassed. This reaction is extremely and grossly disproportionate
Not that we have a fantastic public transport system. Images of buses, autos, trucks being burnt at the slightest provocation suggest there is little that those running the system can do little to help save the situation. Are we responsible for the hapless public distribution system? What kind of anger is this? And who is the looser in the long run? And who are benefiting from this? Why unrests and protests are done by damaging public property and harassing the innocents? Will this solve the problem?
I don’t want to jump the gun but a suggestion comes to mind. Anyone indulging in causing damage to public property should not be entitled for any government favours for the rest of his or her life. After all the buses, shops, etc are in no way responsible for hurting sentiments. Exemplary punishment will have to be doled out to those indulging in such senseless acts. The punishment will have to be such that it acts as a deterrent to others.
The greatness of democracy lies in the fact that it forces governments to look at the real reason behind protests/Bandhs and not promote it. Most Bandhs are just a case of desperate politicians trying to whip up a storm in a teacup.
The specter of growing protests movement of the awakened is threatening the parliamentary Govt and while the Govt while claiming itself to be democratic, adopting repressive measures which encroach on the democratic rights of the people to preserve law and order.
The “basis on which the parliamentary form of Govt rest” does it rally represent the will of the people? Are the institutional devices evolved to allow full participation to the people in the political process and also provide appropriate channels to redress the grievances, wrongs and harms done to the people or section of the people.? Are these compatible with the Govt? And further, out of the varieties of the protest how many forms of direct action should the democratic? GOVT permit in consonance with its democratic pretensions? Does the parties political assumptions justify violence on the part of the citizen, if the govt though elected by them encroached upon the fundamental right or exercise its authority that prevent the enjoyment of the fundamental right to a large section of the people.
Is this right ? Spirit of democracy?

High profile criminal cases of India
Along with few mentioned and few not mentioned stories, our society is growing and progressing and we the component of the society are part of it?
Inspite of the whole lot our social economic structure differentiates with sex. Women are still not treated genuinely. The society does not treat them indisputably. But the alarm which this raises is being it the rich and the powerful or the poor class women are being treated badly even at present in my country.
The society mind set has to be changed by making strict laws and fast track courts. It’s high time we should have witness protection laws
Day before yesterday Nitish's brother said, ''Six years, two months and 16 days back, I lit Nitish's pyre. He died for love, freedom and that belief is now vindicated ‘‘. The indomitable mum still have a long way to go Inspite of the lower court verdict to Vikas Yadav and Vishal Yadav guilty under Section 302 (murder), 364 (kidnapping), 201 (destruction of evidence) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC for life imprisonment.
The family has been with the Law & Order system searching for answers and bringing the killers who so effortlessly gutted their son and a brother.
The motive behind the abduction and killing was to end Bharti’s love tangles with Nitish Katara. The prosecution examined as many as 43 witnesses and the defence 26 witnesses in the case. Bharti was the sole witness to the series of events leading to Nitish’s murder. But unlike, Juliet’s of the past who ended up giving up their own lives in the name of love, this one simply ………have no words to describe bharti... Only time will speak...
The court has said – “she has not done justice to the soul of deceased, on one hand she admitted writing letters to him reflecting their relationship”. It was on this account his brother and cousin was nailed but she turned hostile. The course of time will spill the beans…..
It took five years to get her from London and testify. I witnessed all this on TV channels; Hindi and English both. Nitish mom has sat through 400 sittings waiting to hear the judgment of May 30th 2008. From identifying her son's charred remains to fighting for the case to be heard out of Ghazibad courts for a fair trial. She also saw the witnesses turn hostile and lost her husband, who supported her in the fight for justice along with the father of the accused D P Yadav ex Rajya Sabha Samajwadi Party MP.
The mother of nitish is still fighting combined forces of money, politics and riches, orthodox mentality, socially abhorrent natures, antisocial elements and the society is a witness to it…we are witnessing..
Neelam katara is prepared to fight till the end for her son right up to Supreme Court and so is Yadav-The politician for his son till the end. And so is Bharti…….. We wait and watch…..
There are several cases where the court has failed to punish the culprits because of their high profile influence or lack of evidences due to hostile evidences. But of course, few judgments like in Jessica Lal and Priyadarshini Matto’s cases, where the court proved that it did not succumb under any pressure.
In Priyadarshini Matto murder case, the accused is Santosh Kumar Singh son of a former IPS officer and a lawyer. He is serving imprisonment at tihar jail for being convicted in the brutal rape and murder of Priyadarshini Matto, a 23-year-old law graduate which left her friends, public and media stunned on January 24 1996.
But his defense lawyers of Santosh Singh are stiill fighting for him questioning the validity of the DNA report one of the main causes why he was given the benefit of doubt in the Trial court.
Its been more than a decade now. We read in newspapers that Priyadarshini was allegedly murdered by her college senior. After getting problems from Santosh she had filed a complaint in the police station in 1995 as was getting stalked and harassed by Santosh.
On the day of crime that is the January 24th 1996 Santosh allegedly raped Priyadarshini and it has been said in the evidences that he mauled her face with his helmet and strangulated her with an electric wire.
The CBI took the case for investigation. Dealt the case in there specific ways. Inspite of this the accused Santosh Singh was acquitted by the trial court on December 3, 1999.
The family of Priyadarshini fought the battle on the grounds of being hopeful because the judge of the trial court had said in the judgment that he knew that Santo’s was the man who had committed the crime but he was forced to acquit him due to lack of evidence.
The forceful media spotlight led to an accelerated trial, unprecedented in the tangled Indian court system.
Under pressure the investigating agency CBI challenged the judgment in the Delhi high court on February 29, 2000.
Public pressure mounted greatly after an acquittal verdict in the Jessica Lal case, where a number of accused including politician's son Manu Sharma were released despite the murder taking place in a high-society bar in the presence of a dozens of people. The original acquittal was overturned and Santosh Singh was found guilty of murder and rape in 2006 finally.
Ripples went in society and it showed how insecure a citizen can get against this kind of a person if was left free.
At present he is behind bars and his wife with her daughter is safe in the society. The convict was none other than a lawyer, and society had expected much from him.
The case is one of several in India that highlight the ineffectiveness of traditional criminal law system, especially when it comes to high profile perpetrators, including the Manu Sharma and Sanjeev Nanda acquittals.
High Court than had found that the investigative agencies had not done their duties with responsibility. It was said further that two Delhi Police officers did not investigate the case properly.
The Bench on October 17 2006 held Santosh Kumar Singh guilty of the two charges. For a crime which was committed with premeditation and in a brutal manner and for sexually assaulting Matto, the Bench sentenced the convict to life imprisonment under Section 376 of IPC as well as imposed on him a fine of Rs. 5,000.
Had the police taken the complaints of priyadarshini seriously, this incident would have not transpired.
Hearing the verdict Priyadarshini's father Mr Matto expressed satisfaction that justice had been achieved ten years after the gruesome murder.
However, intense public scrutiny was mounted in the case after the acquittals in the Jessica Lal case, with Priyadarshini's aged father Chaman Lal Matoo making frequent appearances on TV, bringing the judiciary under intense pressure.
The conviction will most probably be challenged in the Supreme Court of India, but the verdict and the process is seen as a barometer of a changing India. The ablity of the powerful to remain above the law would be curtailed.
The judgment held the CBI responsible for unfair investigation and failure to produce Virender Prasad, Mattoo’s household help, which resulted in the obstruction of justice. The police had claimed Prasad had gone missing and was not traceable, yet in the aftermath a journalist could easily find him in his Bihar village. Jurnalism should produce these journalist instead of the sensitizing issues that of Arushis Murders which is going on at present.
In Jessica Lal’s case, Manu Sharma, son of a Haryana minister, killed Jessica on April 29, 1999, because she refused to serve him liquor in the restaurant where she was working. The case was closed and all the accused were freed due to lack of evidences, but finally, the case was reopened after media and public outcry, which led to Sharma’s conviction.
Its been media on behalf of the common man who made people ware through news and their forced efforts also forced the police and helped the nab the culprits.
In the present Arushi Talwar case the media has highlighted the loopholes but some channels have even confused . The IGP in charge of the case has called Arushi “characterless”. Her emails have been leaked to the media violating her and her friend’s privacy. The police in capabilities of investigation have again been highlighted. Although an appeal from the women and child minister India gas been made to suspend him. Arushi father the prime suspect will undergo a narco test if given go-ahead.
No crime will be committed if police are honest enough. But sadly, police department in our country thrives and flourishes on bribes only. The final welcome is always welcome by most of us but very few think on how to act on such case where all the culprits should be prosecuted. There are very cases where the society has played a crucial and active role.
How can the civil society get involved in the shaping of our laws and institutions?
Transparency, accountability, legitimacy, credibility, predictability, and reliability, can be attained with society’s confidence and stability.
Its time to act and now…

Avoid traffic jam
Bhopal city is loosing its sheen big time in few areas.
There are numerous reasons for the traffic problems in the city. But prosperity and traffic sense is the main reason for destroying the peace on the roads. In fact i blame banks executives who force the youth to take vehicle loans and adds to the traffic jam and chaos.
On occasions of festivals, rallies, protests, processions, VIP movements, the roads becomes impossible as the strength of the traffic police is too small to deal with the magnitude of the vehicles . It’s completely ineffective as the police is not well quipped.
In few residential and commercial areas bad roads are an understatement. Clogged roads, civic work issues, lack of infrastructure support makes the traffic snarl.
The snail like movement, no planning, no awareness of the administration adds to the problem of traffic of the beautiful city.
Every 2 km one finds a rotary, a monster being erected to highlight the politicians and their banners. Rotaries are hindrance than assistance in the small city. Very little parking areas are formed in the public and commercial zones which is adding to the crisis. And if at all they are, they are being misused under the nose of the administration .Basements designed for parking are being used for the commercial purpose flouting the norms and rules.
But to add more to these problems the traffic sense stand on the top for creating traffic turmoil. The traffic sense is missing big time within India. People are literate but they act as illiterate.
Why cant the office timings can’t be made flexible. Why there should be a concept of rush hour. One can negate the concept of rush hour by giving flexible working hours to the employees.
Traffic problems has its roots not in the narrow roads designed poorly , not in the large quantity of vehicles on roads, not in the lack of education as some want us to believe, not due to poor signage nor in the fact that we are a population of economically poor .
The crux is the sense and the sensibilities. - where and when did we loose our civilised ways of living .Uffff, the mutual respect for each other, value attached to life, to the self gratifying, wild way of living in a society.
The moment we have a jam we hear a honking competition and at least I look out for the person who will be forced to make his vehicle an airplane. People have to be made sensible to follow the traffic rules because innovative engineering solutions will not help with the deficiency of susceptibility. They will fail completely.
Where and Why have we lost our ability to be rational , use our common sense and receptiveness - We must be asking ourselves why we are in such a hurry that almost habitually most drivers start honking as signals turn from Orange to Green or how much time would be saved by stopping at signals well beyond the stop lines.
Creating awareness is no doubt a measure to curb the problem but strict rules are an only answer to deal with this menace.
no doubts good signage, road mapping, proper signals, meticulous planning are must in our city to make the traffic more disciplined .

What Shah Rukh Khan and his band of girls in Chak De! India has done for Indian women and of course sports has come as a godsend. Even though a little reluctantly, people are hailing it as a film that has brought some focus on team sports like hockey in a cricket-crazed nation. Whatever the argument, the film has made a nation sit up along with women to take notice of women’s sports and other pasture at large.

Guns n roses
The incident is the first of its kind in Madhya Pradesh-in Satna district. It comes barely a month after the shocking killing of a Class VIII student by two of his classmates in a Gurgaon public school.Do these incidents incidents point towards some disturbing emerging trends ? Hope not. But if yes its time to take note of the symptom and kill the virus. Right away.
We see the best and brightest of students being alienated by oppressive environments. Many strict responses to violence in school demand profiling. But at times this makes the school environment worse for students who do not adhere to the rules. Cooperative learning technique could be an option that reduces conflict among school children, promotes better learning, improves student motivation, and increases enjoyment of the learning experience.
Violence in our schools demands that educators, students, parents, social service organizations, and concerned individuals be informed about the problems, causes, and effects of school violence. The entire society should join the search for solutions. Not only parents but the school education system and the society have to take a lead to save our future generation.
